Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #31...

I came across this blog and decided to participate in this challenge...
Stampin' Sisters in Christ #31: Clean & Simple for Psalm 51:7-10

The challenge for me was interesting seeing as I've never made a "clean & simple" card per se. I've always been one to embellish a bit more. It was a lot of fun, though and I'm looking forward to the next challenge!

Stampin' Up! products used (unless otherwise noted): Crushed Curry Textured Cardstock & Always Stamp Brush Set (My Digital Studio) Other: Black Slick Writer Med. Pt. & Rhinestones (Michaels)

Well, my Dad's 60th Birthday Party was so much fun! It was really nice seeing the family and meeting some new people also. The photobooth was a hit with both the adults and kids! We danced, ate great food, drank good booze (so I was told) and took lots of pics. My dad had a wonderful night!

Anyhow, in the spirit of birthdays I decided to make a card. I saw a sketch on FlutterbyAtomicButterfly.blogspot.com and put my own spin on it...

My Digital Studio Layout - The 1st!...

Well, I'm very excited to be posting my very first digital scrapbooking layout using My Digital Studio. We just had our 14 month old daughter dedicated in church this past Sunday so I thought what a perfect opportunity to create a layout. So without further adieu, here she is...

Isn't my little angel adorable?! Mia's sitting in her Daddy's lap holding on to her Gamma's camera case. This was taken after her dedication ceremony hence the annointing oil is shining in the center of her forehead. Her Gamma bought her the beautiful dress, headband and shoes (not pictured) that she's wearing. This picture doesn't due her dress justice...absolutely gorgeous! Then again, I am the biased Mommy.

Sandra Bullock & the Oscars...

I have to say that I'm very happy that she won "Best Actress" as she is one of my favs. She epitomizes beauty, intelligence & class with such grace. I watched her on Oprah's special After the Oscars and she is so humble and down to earth. She knows who she is and carries herself so well.

I think that Sandra Bullock is a beautiful human being...her acceptance speech was phenomenal. It was very moving. You can view it below...

She is truly someone to look up to.

A New Day...

Yesterday, I was able to see my son Nick's school play - The Cat In The Hat and he was amazing! No sign of stage fright whatsoever! It was a lot of fun to watch and the children were quite entertaining. They ended the show with a song that they wrote to the music of "Y-M-C-A". Their version was "The - Cat - In - The - Hat". It was awesome! Once the music began, Nick started dancing. No fear people! It was adorable... and really made my day.

In honor of my birthday, I will be giving away a Scor-It Mini to one lucky blogger. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me your favorite birthday memory, become a Follower & link to this post. You have until Sunday, March 7th at midnight. I will randomly select a winner on Monday. My favorite birthday memory is of my birthday cake. My parents would go to the Phoenix Bakery every year in Chinatown and get my favorite cake. It was a sheet cake filled with fresh strawberries, white buttercream and white cake covered with white buttercream, topped with fresh strawberries and sides covered in almond slivers. The cake is to die for... the best cake ever!

Good Luck!

Until Tomorrow...

Simply Inspired By...

These Sorrento Dinner Plates from the Crate & Barrel catalog. I just love how the colors jumped at me. They make me happy and gave me the creative spark that I needed to create the following card.

Paper: Taken With Teal, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie & Very Vanilla Cardstocks and Urban Garden DSP
Stamps: For All You Do
Ink: Melon Mambo
Accessories: Sizzix Textured Impression Folders Perfect Polka Dots, Argyle #2 & Butterfly #2 (from the Hello Friend Set) and Ribbon (from Michaels)

I really love the way this card turned out! With four children, I'm so limited for time. Especially, when my oldest is home sick from school. My three little ones are well at the moment and I hope to keep it that way. I have a card class scheduled on Sunday afternoon after my daughter's dedication at church, provided my children are healthy. The well being of my family always comes first as they are my priority.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful day! Please come by tomorrow for a birthday surprise courtesy of Yours Truly...

Easy peasy to put together and you get a lot of "Bang for your Buck" with these kits. You can easily make 32 - 4" x 4" cards with some product left over. I really love the simplicity of this card and the colors are FABULOUS!
