Countdown to Valentine's Day - Day 5...

 photo 005_zpsdfaf12ff.jpg

Today I decided to make a card that's not your typical Valentine's Day card in that it's not all shades of pink and full of hearts. Instead, I used a Sorbet card base measuring 4 1/4" x 5" that I scored randomly, a Champagne mat measuring 3 1/4" square, Claire Bulk B&T Duos (floral) measuring 3" x 2 7/8", Claire Bulk B&T Duos (pattern) measuring 2 3/4" x 3/4" and I punched out the center of the largest flower using a scallop circle punch. I adhered the scallop flower to the top of my card with some foam tape, stamped the sentiment using January's SOTM - Happy Valentine's Day and embellished them with some bitty pearls.

Supplies used -

Paper: Claire Paper Packet (X7166B), Champagne (X5931) & Sorbet (X5751) Cardstocks
Stamps: Happy Valentine's Day - Jan SOTM (N/A)
Ink: Cashmere (Z2175) Exclusive Inks® Stamp Pads
Accessories: Opaques Pearls (Z1336) & 3-D Foam Tape (Z1151)
Other: Fiskars Scallop Circle Punch

Countdown to Valentine's Day - Day 4...

Today, I decided to create some cute little Love Notes to put in my kids' lunchboxes each day. They are super easy to make too! All you have to do is choose what color cardstock you'd like to use and trim away. I used 2 sheets of 12" x 12" cardstock and trimmed every 2 inches until I had a 2" square. I then rounded all of the corners and stamped my little owl and heart. They fit perfectly inside the rounded square window tin that I tied with some CTMH Black Tulle Ribbon.

Supplies used -

Paper: Hollycock (1246) & Whisper (X5929) Cardstocks
Stamps: Whooo's Your Valentine (N/A)
Ink: Hollycock (Z2128) & Slate (Z2173) Exclusive Inks® Stamp Pads
Accessories: Corner Rounder (Z578)
Other: Rounded Square Window Tin (Papermart)

Countdown to Valentine's Day - Day 3...

For Day 3 I decided to use one of the new CTMH Pillow Boxes and decorate it by first running it through my Sizzix Big Shot inside of my A2 Twizzle Embossing Folder. Second, I tied a bow around it with CTMH's Black Tulle Ribbon. Third, I punched a heart out of  Hollycock cardstock and added a bling gem to it. Finally, I adhered it to the center of the bow with a glue dot. Easy peasy Valentine Pillow Box in less than 5 minutes from start to finish! All you have to do is decided what you'd like to fill it with and you're good to go!!!

Supplies used -

Paper: Hollycock Cardstock
Accessories: My Creations™ Clear Pillow Boxes (Z1840), Black Tulle Ribbon (Z1798), Memory Book Mini Glue Dots® (Z341) & Bling Gems (retired)
Other: Sizzix A2 Twizzle Embossing Folder & Sizzix Big Shot

Countdown to Valentine's Day - Day 2...

For Day 2, I decided to make a little treat pouch using a 6" x 6" sheet of Claire B&T Duos. Simply take your sheet and turn it so it looks like a diamond. Score inward from the left point at 2 1/2" and inward from the right point at 6". Turn your sheet a quarter of the way, scoring inward from the right point at 2 1/4" and inward from the right point at 6 1/4". Trim away the 4 mini triangles where your score marks intersect, fold and adhere. Your pouch should measure 3 1/2" x 6".

Supplies used -

Paper: Claire B&T Duos (X7166B), Blush (X5640) &  Hollycock (1246) Cardstocks
Stamps: Whooo's Your Valentine (N/A)
Ink: Slate Exclusive Inks® Stamp Pad (Z2173)
Accessories: 2" Scallop Circle Punch (Z1392)
Other: 1 3/4" Circle Punch (Fiskars), 1" Scallop Circle Punch (Fiskars), 3/4" Circle Punch (Fiskars), 4" Tube

Countdown to Valentine's Day...

This is the card that I made to kick off my Countdown to Valentine's Day. I started with a Blush cardstock base (4 1/4" x 5 1/2"), random stamped hearts on a White Daisy strip (1" x 4 1/2"), stamped the small heart in Hollycock on to White Daisy cardstock, the medium heart in Blush on to White Daisy cardstock, the large heart - half in Slate and half in Hollycock - on to White Daisy cardstock and stamped the sentiment in Black on a Hollycock strip (1/2" x 3 3/4"). I added a Grey Sparkle Badge Button to the banner.

Especially for Mom...

It's been a while since I've posted some of my own artwork, but I couldn't resist. My mom's birthday was on Wednesday and I decided to make her a card. I decided to scroll through various sketches in my feeds and came across the one below from CPS - Card Sketches.

And this is what I came up with from the sketch...

Inside...

I know it's not your typical birthday color scheme, but I wanted to work outside of the box. We're going out to dinner tonight to celebrate. I really hope she likes my handmade card.

Project Life - CTMH Style...

Project Life - CTMH Style has begun! For those of you wondering what Project Life is, it's an album documenting your life daily, weekly or monthly. It's completely up to you! I'm choosing to document my life weekly because it seems a bit more manageable for me. If I forget to take a picture one or two days, I will still have the remaining days pictures from the week to document. I plan to work on this album every Sunday after church or early evening.

Another example can be seen here - http://pinterest.com/pin/34199278390482911/

Please note: the example shown in the link is not using photo storage pages, but have given the pages the same look by adhering all of the elements to a 12x12 sheet of cardstock and placed in a 12x12 sheet protector. That is definitely another option.
