Today was a very busy day for the family. However it ended with us spending some "QT" together. I sat on the chaise lounge with Luke on his Boppy, Larry laid on the sofa with Joshua on his lap at times and Nicholas laid on the love seat while we watched "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry".
I'm kind of a freak when it comes to movies because I have to be in the mood to watch them. Larry's been asking me to watch it for about a week now, so I finally gave in. I'm glad that I did too, because I thought that it was just going to be another dumb comedy - not that that's a bad thing - but I was pleasantly surprised that it was both funny and had some substance to it.
You all are probably thinking that this movie wasn't age appropriate for my kids - it's PG 13 - but Joshua was too busy playing the piano and with all of his other toys in the living room and Nicholas, we had him turn his head and plug his ears during certain parts. It was just nice to be together in the same room spending time together.
What a wonderful day!!! Looking forward to more days like this...

Miserable Without My Memory Card!
I've been without my memory card for a few days now and I'm going crazy!!! A few evenings ago, I was taking some pictures of Joshua in the bathtub (with Luke in my arms) and when I finished, I was going through my camera settings and accidently clicked "OK" instead of "CANCEL" and formatted my card. I lost all of the wonderful pictures that I'd taken of my children and nephews throughout the past week and was devastated. However, I remembered my friend Krista mention that her husband Rick (IT Guy) had some sort of program/card reader that could possibly retrieve what was lost on my memory card, so now I'm just waiting for him to get back into town on Monday to see what the verdict is... Please pray that he's able to retrieve my pics!!!

Layout-A-Day Challenge for 2008
Forget those "New Years Resolutions"! Instead, I decided that I would challenge myself in 2008 by completing one layout per day of my family's day-to-day activities. I mean, really! Resolutions are usually unrealistic and most of the time remain unresolved by the deadline you have given yourself anyway. Quite frankly, I would much rather enjoy myself then stress out on whether or not I'm going to be back to my toned, pre-children body.
I'm very excited at the fact that by the end of 2008 I'm going to have a year's worth of daily documented memories of my family... 365 layouts, perhaps double - for 2 page spreads!!! Below is my first layout for Jan. 2008. Be sure to come back and visit to see my upcoming layouts.
Until next time, J

Layout was created using digi paper and picture template is from the After Midnight Kit by Miss Mint, quote from the Express Yourself Kit by Ronna Penner for Shabby Princess, sticker from the Echos of Asia Kit by Jessica Sprague and the font is CK Journaling.
All of the pics were taken randomly throughout the day. It's just an average day in the Benavides Household, I say. We had tons of laundry - folded and put away, dishes - done, naps, diaper changes, feedings, quality time with the boys and as a family. Ain't life grand?!Until next time, J
